1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Account Information: If you choose to create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo (via Apple, Google, or email sign-up). Account creation is optional — the app works fully offline without one.
• Prayer Content: Prayers, journal updates, categories, tags, and testimonies you create are stored locally on your device. They are only uploaded to our servers if you explicitly enable Cloud Backup or share them with a Prayer Circle or the Prayer Wall.
• Shared Content: When you post to a Prayer Circle or the Prayer Wall, the content you submit (prayer title, description, your display name or "Anonymous") is stored on our servers and visible to other authenticated users as described.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device Tokens: If you sign in, we store a push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) to deliver notifications such as "someone prayed for your request." This token is not used for advertising or tracking.
• Crash & Performance Data: We may use Firebase Crashlytics or Analytics in the future to diagnose crashes and improve app performance. This data is anonymous and does not include your prayer content.

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect location data.
• We do not collect contacts or address book information.
• We do not use cookies or tracking pixels.
• We do not serve advertisements or share data with ad networks.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to:

• Provide and maintain the Prayer Power app and its features.
• Authenticate your account and secure your data.
• Deliver push notifications you have opted into (e.g., daily prayer reminders, "someone prayed for you").
• Back up your prayer data to the cloud if you enable this feature.
• Improve app stability and fix bugs (via anonymous crash reports, if enabled).

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

• With other users: Only content you explicitly choose to share (Prayer Circle posts, Prayer Wall requests). You control whether posts are anonymous.
• Service providers: We use Google Firebase for authentication, database, cloud storage, and push notifications. Firebase processes data in accordance with Google's privacy policy.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental request.

4. Data Storage & Security

• Local data: Your personal prayers are stored in an encrypted SQLite database on your device. They never leave your device unless you enable Cloud Backup or share them.
• Cloud data: Shared content and backups are stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), which provides encryption at rest and in transit.
• iCloud Backup: If you use the iCloud backup feature, data is stored in your personal iCloud container, governed by Apple's privacy policies.
• We implement reasonable security measures but cannot guarantee absolute security. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Your Rights & Choices

• Access & Export: You can export all your prayer data at any time via Settings → Account → Export Backup.
• Deletion: You can delete individual prayers, prayer requests, or your entire account. Deleting your account removes your profile, backups, and shared content from our servers.
• Opt Out: You can disable push notifications, daily reminders, and cloud backup at any time in the app settings.
• No Account Required: You can use the core features (prayer journal, timer, categories, testimonies) without creating an account or sharing any data.

6. Children's Privacy

Prayer Power is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

7. Third-Party Services

Prayer Power uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase Authentication — for account sign-in (Apple, Google, email/password)
• Firebase Firestore — for shared prayer data and cloud backups
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — for push notifications
• Apple Sign In — for iOS authentication
• Google Sign In — for authentication

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

8. Data Retention

• Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
• Cloud backups are retained until you delete them or delete your account.
• Shared content (Prayer Wall, Circles) is retained until you or the circle owner deletes it.
• Account data is retained until you delete your account.

9. International Users

Prayer Power is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the app from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located. By using the app, you consent to this transfer. We comply with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Economic Area and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the app or on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
